Through “the Apokoronian origins” we offer a basket of carefully selected agricultural products strictly produced in the protected region of Apokoronas, Chania, Crete. Extra virgin olive oil, natural honey, native organic herbs, traditional vinegar products.

Our region has a unique geographic diversity, as it includes a part of the White Mountains, semi-mountainous lands, the fertile plain of Apokoronas, rivers from the White Mountains running through it, the only natural lake of Crete (Lake Kournas), and a coastline at North Cretan Sea from Souda bay to Rethymno prefecture. This diversity, combined with the existence of plenty of spring water, forms a microclimate with particular characteristics that favors agricultural production (such as, olive groves, vineyards, vegetables, citrus trees, avocados, kiwis, apiculture, herbs).

Apokoronas is everything we bear in mind when we think of Crete. Images, music, customs, aromas and mostly, the taste of food. These tastes are “the Apokoronian origins”.

Agriculture and olive oil are a way of living, not an income source. Olive groves and farmlands pass from parents to children in an endless continuity of tradition and honor. Our products come from small family estates, instead of massive farming done exclusively for commercial purposes. The main objective of the farmers is to feed their families with the very same products. Therefore, they avoid the massive use of pesticides, treating the trees with love and respect.

Apokoronas is unspoiled, authentic, traditional, proud, generous, distinctive. Just like its products.
