Very good in quantity, but also quality, appears this year’s wine production of Samos, as reported by KEOSOE, as a result of the good weather conditions that prevailed on the island.
According to the Union, this year’s production is expected to meet market needs, while the prices of the Samos Cooperative this year are 10% higher, compared to 2020.
Specifically, a feature of this year is the increase of grape production by 15% and the fine quality of the grapes.
Extreme summer temperatures and heatwaves did not appear to affect production, as Aegean insufficient soil moisture acted as compensators.
The satisfactory degrees of sugars in the grapes favor the vinification of the sweet wines of the Cooperative and the dry wines have satisfactory acidity and excellent aromatic character, while in the new series of natural wines, the grapes of organic and biodynamic cultivation from selected vineyards are of excellent quality.
