Milk: The market that sells 400 million euros in supermarkets

Slight decline in sales in the first months of 2021

The overall domestic milk market is moving slightly in the first four months of 2021. According to FoodReporter sources based on market metrics from Nielsen IQ, the change in supermarket sales in both volume and value is moving at its levels – 0.9% compared to the corresponding period of the first four months of 2020. It should be noted that in terms of value, the milk market as a whole recorded sales worth 138 million euros compared to 139.2 million euros in 2020 and in a volume of 108.44 million kg in 2020, decreased to 107.5 million pounds in 2021 in the first four months.

The milk market exceeds 400 million
In a market that has been showing strong signs of concentration in recent times, the total market of milk in organized retail for 2020 moved up by 3.3% reaching 421.72 million euros compared to 408.25 million euros in 2019. Respectively in terms of quantities sold, the quantities of 2020 were marginally increased by 0.2% in 2020 amounting to 317.88 million kg compared to 317.19 million kg in 2019
