Americans turn their backs on alcohol

The lockdown changed the habits of alcohol consumption

Alcohol consumption in the US is 5% lower, as evidenced by data from Gallup, which has been mapping the US market since 2019.
In 2021, 60% of American adults reported consuming beverages, wine and beer, up from 65% in 2019.
At the same time, the frequency of alcohol consumption has decreased, since from 4 to 7 days a week, Americans now drink alcohol 3.6 days a week – among them, 34% do not drink at all, while only 13% drink more than eight drinks.

He also consumes alcohol:
70% of Americans aged 35-54,
60% aged 18-34 years and
• 52% of those over 55.


Beer remains at the top of preferences
Beer is still the most popular among alcoholics, while 1/3 of consumers prefer wine and 27% prefer some kind of liqueur.
