Top distinction for the Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil Grand Cru of Koroneiki variety of Terra Creta.
International conquest of high importance for Terra Creta, with the extra virgin olive oil Grand Cru of Koroneiki variety, taking first place in the Mario Solinas 2021 competition, in the category “Mild green fruitiness”. The Mario Solinas competition is organized by the International Olive Council (IOC ) and is the most demanding international olive oil competition today.
Grand Cru received the highest position that Greek olive oil has won in this competition since 2008.
The tender provides for a strict procedure for the taking of samples and the sealing of a tank certified by a notary. The samples are evaluated by a group of top testers of the International Oil Council for this and it enjoys a very high readability.
Terra Creta was founded in 2001 by Cretans with deep knowledge and long experience in the field of olive oil. The first facilities were located in the area of Souda in the prefecture of Chania.
From its first steps, Terra Creta (or “CRETAN LAND” as its original name was), had an export orientation and a solid philosophy based on the overall quality and high organoleptic characteristics of its products.
One of the first products of the company was the Extra Virgin Olive Oil PDO. Kolymvari of the prefecture of Chania, which even today is known in many countries for its special quality and taste characteristics. In 2007 the ever-increasing demand for our quality products, created the need to create more modern facilities, including an olive mill for vertical production and absolute quality control.
Since 2009 the company operates in its new privately owned and state-of-the-art facilities, in the “heart” of the most famous olive grove of Crete in Kolymvari.
The new facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art production lines, large-capacity stainless steel olive oil storage tanks and one of the most modern and innovative olive mills. The company’s commitment is to produce products of unsurpassed quality, always following the strictest international rules of safety and hygiene, in order to the absolute satisfaction of its customers.
