Α family buffalo farm next to Lake Kerkini!
“Kerkini Farm", the family farm of Vasilis Papadopoulos, was established back in 1999 and since then is the only vertically integrated buffalo meat unit in Greece over all stages of the chain "from field to shelf"!
Its facilities are located next to "Kerkini Lake", a protected wetland by the "International Ramsar Treaty", that is ideal for the buffaloes' living. It is their breeding in this environment with such a rich & aromatic flora that offers a meat with unique & special taste.
Buffalo Meat stands out for its nutritional value and constitutes a significant source of iron, phosphorus and Vitamin A. One important feature of buffalo meat is its low fat content (1.3% - 1.8%), which makes it an ideal food for children, but also for people with special dietary requirements.
All farm's buffaloes are individually identified & certified by the "Greek Ministry of Agricultural Development". In its modern workshop has complete control over the quality of its products, applying European hygiene and quality assurance standards (ISO 22000:2005).
