Bites of Greece: The Greek products that stood out

The operation of the Greek Pop Up Store in Islington, London was completed with great success.

During the four weeks, during which the physical store of Bites of Greece remained open, it welcomed more than 1,450 visitors who discovered, tasted and bought the Greek products which participated in.

It is important that 30% of visitors were frequent customers with at least two visits per week to the store.
Greek wines emerged as the first choice in the preferences of the visitors, which surprised with their taste, as well as with their labels and price.

In addition, the second themed tasting event was successfully held with Judy Ridgway, the award-winning Olive Oil Expert. Judy Ridgway is also a writer, journalist and has 25 years of experience in the study and tasting of Mediterranean olive oil. During the event “Greek Olive Oils – Taste like a Pro” the attendees got to know the Regions of Greece, the olive oils produced in each and their special characteristics. They were also trained in the correct way of testing and selecting olive oil and were informed about the health and nutritional benefits it offers.
Finally, the cycle of tastings was completed with the realization of the last event on the theme of Greek wine. Honorary guest and coordinator was Master of Wine Demetri Walters. The teacher and presenter specialized in Greek wines, introduced the guests to the world of Greek wine through personalized presentations about the fine wines that participated in the action.
The pairing of wines with various delicacies could not be missing from the event, with the aim of highlighting the best possible taste characteristics of each wine.
It is worth noting that for two weeks more than 150 Greek products were found at the TRUMAN Upmarket in Bricklane, the market that for two decades houses some of the most exciting and upcoming retail food brands in London, offering a unique tasting experience to diverse and refreshed audiences. of East London foodies.
