50 Great Greek Wines (50 GGW) is pleased to announce the holding of the first 50 GGW Conference on “Greek wine in 10 years”.
The digital event will take place on November 14, 2021, with coordinators Giannis Karakasis MW and Grigoris Michailos Dip WSET, and invited important personalities of the wine scene. Among him are the professor of viticulture S. Koundouras, José Vouillamoz (author of Wine Grapes), Professor Th. Georgopoulos as well as the President of EDOAO / SEO G. Vogiatzis.
The event will be divided into 2 parts.
In the first part, which will take place in the form of a webinar, the following topics will be discussed.
• Session 1:
Old Vines: maintaining a unique wealth (12.00-13.00)
Giannis Karakasis MW
• Session 2:
Indigenous varieties, 10 years later (13: 00-14: 00)
Professor St. Koundouras, Dr José Vouillamoz
• Session 3: Legislation & Greek wine in the next decade (14: 00-15: 00)
G. Vogiatzis, Professor Th. Georgopoulos
The second part will test 8 rare wines (not commercially available) from wineries that won the first 50 GGW based on the experimentation factor. A full discussion will follow in the presence of the producers. .
