Private labeled foods that occupied the largest share in the Greek market in 2020

The nuts were at the top of the list of the top 20 private label products with the largest market share in value in Greece in 2020 according to the data of the PLMA International Yearbook 2021.
Private labeled nuts occupied a share of 86% in value, maintaining the same percentage as in 2019 while their share in terms of volume fell marginally and stood at 87.1%.

Cold cuts, ice cream, jams, frozen dough, canned fish and frozen vegetables are some products where PL presents significant penetration in the Greek market with sales in volume occupying a share of over 40%.
It is indicative that the private label cold cuts last year had a share of 55.7% in volume, while the percentage shown by the ice cream is also important with 58.6%, although it decreased by -3.6% compared to 2019.

On the other hand, margarines, chewing gums and butter showed low penetration, with their percentage moving close to the area of ​​10%.
Foods that are part of the basic food items such as milk, bread, flour and olive oil showed a share close to the average of 30% held by the private label industry in Greece.
