Hellenic-German Chamber: Green entrepreneurship laboratories

The action of the first green entrepreneurship workshops in Crete, which will operate within the GreenTecLab project “Empowerment of newly established companies for climate protection”, is announced by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Technical Schools of the Heraklion Chamber.


The green entrepreneurship workshops will be held on 25, 26 & 27 May and 2-3 June online. The e-workshops can be attended by young people from all over Crete, who want to develop “green” business ideas and establish their own “sustainable” startup. In particular, it is a project aimed at entrepreneurs, students, young scientists, representatives of organizations or companies, the unemployed, producers, incubators, academic institutions, local groups, companies, business consultants and startuppers.

Within the framework of green entrepreneurship workshops, topics related to “Green” entrepreneurship and new “green” technologies and innovations in Greece and abroad will be developed, while entrepreneurs who have developed start-ups in the agri-food sector will talk about their experiences.

The participants in the program will be informed about how a business plan is prepared, they will have the opportunity to present their ideas during special workshops, but also to prepare for their participation in a relevant competition. The green entrepreneurship workshops will be held in Greek and English, with speakers and entrepreneurs from Germany, Spain and Slovakia.

The competition will take place after the completion of the workshop cycle and specifically on June 24, 2021, in Heraklion, Crete, where the participants will present their business ideas and in the context of this, the five most innovative ideas will be highlighted and awarded. The young people who will be distinguished, will enjoy Mentoring services for one year, by mentors of the program, while similar assistance will be provided to organizations in Crete.

The GreenTecLab project is funded by the European Climate Protection Initiative (EUKI) of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, coordinated by Fiap eV and co-sponsored by the University of Cadiz, the University of Cadiz and Pedal-Consulting from Slovakia and from Greece the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It is noted that in Greece the GreenTecLab project is under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
