• Chestnut Honey
Chestnut honey is a special case of honey as it is a mixture of carefree and honeydew, rich in trace elements. This means that the bees collect both the nectar of the chestnut plant and the secretions of its parasite from the trunk and leaves of the tree in order to produce the chestnut honey. The flowering of Chestnut trees begins in early June and lasts until mid-July. At that time, our bees were transported to the mountain village of Agiasos in Kastanodasos, at an altitude of 800m.
