Coffee Republic was founded in 1995 in Athens and is one of the pioneers in the specialty coffee sector, adhering to the international standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). As part of its philosophy and commitment to continuous innovation, in 2011, the company launched a new Specialty Project called Cafeistas.
The company is based in the Industrial Area (BI-PE) of Peristeri, Attica, and operates in both wholesale and retail coffee sales.
The coffee production, roasting, packaging, and storage processes take place in an open and accessible space equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and environmentally friendly features. A glass partition separates the production area from the Coffee Shop. In the Coffee Shop, visitors can sample and purchase the full range of Coffee Republic products, including whole beans, ground coffee, espresso ESE capsules, and small coffee preparation equipment for home or office use.
The company also provides training and seminars on coffee preparation and service. The training center, Training Campus, is housed in facilities specially designed to meet both Greek and European standards. Following international guidelines from the Specialty Coffee Association, it has been certified as an SCA Premier Training Campus and offers certifications for the SCA Coffee Diploma System in Barista Skills and Brewing. It is also certified as a Q Venue by the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI).
Since 2017, Coffee Republic has been certified by the Control & Certification Organization for Organic Products (DIO) for its organic products and implements a food safety management system according to the requirements of the international ISO 22000:2018 standard.
In 2023, the company installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of its facilities, fully covering its energy needs and contributing to a reduction in its carbon footprint.
In recent years, Coffee Republic has actively supported organizations such as the Smile of the Child, UNICEF, and the self-managed social solidarity group "O Allos Anthropos." Additionally, the Piraeus and Islands UNESCO Group has honored the company for its contributions to poverty alleviation efforts. The “Coffee Kids” initiative, dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in coffee-growing communities worldwide, has recognized Coffee Republic S.A. as an active member in its actions.
