The Triantafyllopoulos family, always motivated by passion for their home island of Kos and their faith in Mediterranean's Oenogastronomic culture deep roots, has now set new goals looking to the next 20 years, while holding onto the knowledge and experience gained from their colorful wine journey so far.
The construction of the winery back in 2004 marked the beginning of them welcoming wine lovers from all over the world. The number of visitors so far has reached 700.000, a fact that justifies the initial vision of the family to create a space where different cultures get to interact with one common denominator: Wine. All these people, all these years, who participate in the family's wine trails and experiences, were also the inspiration for creating the wines’ new commercial identity - Akranis, a word that is no longer heard as much, except mostly in folk songs, meaning friend, companion. The two warriors depicted in the new logo, Hercules and Halkonas, became friends at the end, as narrated in one of Hercules' labors that took place in Kos.
This needs to redefine and refresh their brand after many years allowed the Production Team to explore new winemaking expressions, and to present a more contemporary and authentic as well assortment. The new portfolio is able to meet the different demands of the market. It will unfold the rich and diverse terroir of the island, and the unique profiles of the grape varieties, grown on the privately owned vineyard of 15 hectares. Dedication to detail and in-depth knowledge leads to wines with character and complexity.
