The apple is a fruit, the fruit of the apple tree (cf. Malus domerica, Latin Malus domestica) of the Rosaceae family. It is one of the most widespread and widely cultivated fruits. The tree is deciduous and reaches 5-12 meters high with leaves having an ellipsoid shape and pointed tip. Flowering in spring with white flowers (light pink at the beginning), 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter, with five petals. Fruits ripen in autumn and usually have a diameter of 5-9 cm (and rarely up to 15 cm). The apple tree has been known since prehistoric times, in both wild and cultivated form.
