Figs with designation of origin
On the Balcony of the Aegean, in Kymi, Evia, where the
natural environment contrasts with the blue of the sea shores,
Family Gerali, laid the foundations of the company Philosykos, which since 2017 has been engaged in the traditional cultivation and drying of figs applying modernmethods of cultivation, collection, packaging and storage offering us daily with an excess of family care, the nutritional wealth of the celebrated Kymi figs.
Mediterranean and holistic
Quality, sustainability and transparency, concepts interrelated
and identical to the philosophy of the Philosykos family
business, paved the way for a successful course. Nowadays,
the Geralis family spreads its activities over six fig groves with
700 fig trees of integrated organic cultivation, completely
natural, without chemical products or synthetic fertilisers.
With a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), dried Philosykos
figs, thin-skinned and juicy, remain softer, with a sumptuous and
fleshy flavor, since a special drying technique is applied, the traditional askada.
