Profile

The North Aegean Islands (Lemnos, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria), produce, standardize and export a multitude of local traditional products, belonging to the food and beverage industry.

These products are unique and characterized by their purity and excellent quality, due to the uniqueness of the flora and fauna of the North Aegean Islands, which gives them a distinct flavor.     

The most important food products, are: a) the famous table olives and the organic olive oil produced from millions of olive trees, b) the dairy products and meat from animals grazing freely in the islands’ pastures, such as the unique ladotyri (olive oil cheese) and the feta cheese, c) the salted preserves, such as the delicious sardines from the bay of Kalloni, and d) a lot of sweets, honey, sauces and flour, as long as the unique mastic from Chios.       

On the other hand, all the North Aegean Islands produce excellent quality’s beverages, such as: a) the most famous ouzo of the world, b) wine with unique aromatic tastes, and c) a variety of liqueurς, juices and soft drinks, produced from the local fruits.
