Our family-owned distillery story begins in 1880 on the Greek island of Chios initially producing artisan ouzo. Fast forward 141 years, and the company has remained an independent family company for four generations, now led by Yannis Gkialis and his sister Alexandra.

After ouzo the next step had been the production of liqueur with Chios traditional flavours like mastiha, tangerine, rose, etc and Diamanti, a type of brandy.

Since 1950, the company has also launched the unique refreshing Gazoza, as well as a variety of traditional fruit juice refreshments with the outstanding aroma of Chios citrus : orange, tangerine and lemon. Since then our trade name changed to CHION , indicating our origin, inspired by Chioni, the daughter of Oenopion, the legendary King of Chios.

Our collection has recently been enriched with vodka natural and vodka melon, adding a distinct tone to our company.

Today, over 141 years of tradition, the secrets and recipes of our family business have been conveyed from generation to generation. This valuable experience and the appropriate know-how has allowed us to create distinctive products.

Our main priority has been to provide high quality products, using raw materials we get entirely from the Greek market. We pay attention to the choice of pure and superior quality ingredients, regardless the cost which are processed with care, in order to have the best desired result. The production takes place in new, modernized facilities with new mechanical equipment, in compliance with all required specifications.

As we have remained true to the family values, our distillery continues to produce ouzo, soft drinks and juice refreshments in the traditional way with the same unique taste and aroma of the old days....
